PHYSICS IS FUN
Lab: Mass Vs. Weight
Partner: Ben Pelson
Research Question: Are Mass and Weight the same thing?
IV: Mass
DV: Weight
Constant: Planet Earth
Procedure: Measure the mass of the object (Kg), place the object on the spring scale and measure the Newtons of force being exerted because of the force of gravity which will give us the weight.
y=10x
Weight (Fg)=Mass (Kg) x 10 (N/Kg)
Fg=mg
g= the gravitational field strength
g=9.8 which is close to what our equation got (10)
Every object has a gravitational field strength
For Example, Ben has a gravitational force pulling on me but it is too weak to affect me.
